ADD/ADHD

ADD is Attention Deficit Disorder and ADHD is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  Research gathered by the M’lis Company indicates that dietary modification plays a key role in the management of ADHD and should be considered the first step in a treatment protocol.  Per M’lis, “we can learn to identify and eliminate irritants only through hard work and trial and error.  The elimination of these irritants may or may not provide the ‘cure’ for ADHD, but if the negative behaviors of ADHD can be managed through dietary controls, then fewer children and adults will be relying on chemical stimulants for management.”

Complete balanced nutrition is essential to a healthy body and is almost impossible to achieve without supplementation.  A lack of specific nutrients have been found in people with ADHD.  A significant improvement in overall health has been shown through dietary and supplement changes with people who suffer from ADHD.

We encourage individuals to seek a pediatrician or primary care physician who recognizes the importance of dietary methods in ADHD treatment.  Because the Eden Wellness Program is educational in nature and involves nutritional modification and counseling, written consent from a medical doctor is required to ensure that there are no medical or psychological contradictions.   Simply suppressing the root cause or bad habits with drugs is not the optimum approach or long term solution.  Though stimulant drugs may be required for some in the treatment of ADHD, the attitude should be “nutrition first.”  If taking medication, speak with your medical provider to use the lowest dose possible and for a limited time.

As with any allergy or chronic illness, successful treatment for ADHD will be specific to the individual.  ADHD behavior can be better understood and managed with strict commitment, effort and strict dietary monitoring.  In the case of a child, the understanding and help of caring parents, teachers, and medical professionals is vital to success.

Program results will vary with each participant.  For the best results, work with an Eden Wellness Mentor.
